Do you tell your parents who you like?

I tell my mom, and she gives me advice and such. She usually just asks me first and u tell her who I like or if I'm dating anyone. I don't tell my dad because he used to be a cop and he always jokes about "having the shotgun ready." At least, I hope he's joking..
