How to deal with the 4th of July?

So, its the first 4th of July without my soldier, so I'm not really in the spirit to celebrate. However, I was invited to a celebration and don't want to disappoint people by missing it. Don't get me wrong i love the 4th, and some of my friends are over sea. but it just eats at me that this will be the first 4th without him, and it hurts, i miss him, it just seems like the 4th is mocking me because he was taken away from me and won't be here to celebrate. GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS!!!!
